Hello, guys, Alright I got very aggravated seeing this little gay mr2 beat one of ours on this video that has just been uploaded to streetfire.net. Go to mazda videos on streetfire.net and check it out, man who ever owns that rx7 needs to get his licensed revoked and that car tooken away.I think that person was lying on the video about the RX-7 having a T51R on it, That rx7 should of smoked that gay mr2.Anyways check it out and find out who this dude is and check him.

Who ever said that MR2s can't be fast? They weigh a good 500lbs less than an FD, and a T78 is a good sized turbo for that car.

 

Nice MR2. SW20's are awesome, my friend has a turbo, great little cars. AW11's are light and really quick with a little increase in boost. When they're built up a little, we have some nice competition for our FDs and FCs.

 

It's strange that you don't hear the shrill of the t51R anti-surge compressor housing.

 

Yea, thats not a t51r FD. It is single, but not a t51. That Mr2 is FAST though.

 

yes because FD's are touched by god and never lose. Come on man! give props to the mr2 it deserves it.

 

Without even looking at the posts that's immediately what I said (about the 51r). That 7 would have been alot faster up top if it was a t51r. But still, props to the mr2.

 

Just because its running a t51R doesn't mean he is going to win, he could be running 5 psi of boost and that MR2 could have been pushing 25 psi. You never know and you wouldn't hear the turbo if it was spinning a lot less boost as well.

 

True, he could be running little boost, but the t51r has a very distinct whistle to the turbo. The 7 sounded like it had a t04 or small single, runing 10-14psi. Just my guess

 

Alright, Alright I give props to those little Mr2's.But come on know lets ease up on the props for that mr2 or have you guys forgotten its all about rotary power on this site.

 

that is no t51r rx7 even if he was running little boost you would still hear that thing whistle since the excess air will be going out through the wastegate. I still would not knock on the mr2s since they are light and fast, I used to have one and wish I never sold it....There is a white one out there that is crazy fast...

Seems like the FD driver gets stuck during the 3rd to 4th shift. He keeps his pace, then all of a sudden dies out right away. I dont think that MR2 has that much top end.

 

That mr2 pulled hard up top.. Seems like the 7 was less boost or smaller turbo. Nice run for the mr2.r G

 

Okay guys that Rx7 is mine...THat was me running up against one of the local guys here. The MR2 claimed to be 400+whp, tuned at 14psi. I on the other hand was running on low boost 12psi made 363whp on a mustang dyno. That very day I drove a lot in the Rx7. Possibly about 3-4 hours total prior to the race. NOt to make any excuses or anything but my tuner "NoRotorRx7" knows that my turbo is bad. Threw an apex seal on the previous motor and still made 360+whp. That Mr2 was running race gas in that sucker while i was on 93 octane.

With all the amount of driving my car, in third gear, the turbo began to lag. Now we all know that with a bad turbo and heat any car will run weaker. There you guys go, we'll be making more runs soon after I get my turbo fixed. And no I am not running a T51r.

 

this is how the race went:

1st run:
We both were in first gear. I was the "honker"...after the third honk we both got on it. As you can tell from the vid, I picked up quickly in 1st and 2nd but lagged big time in 3rd.

2nd run:
We did a dead stop run, we both bogged off the launch but again I picked up faster and fell behind in 3rd gear. If you watch closely in the second run you can see smoke shoot out of my exhaust in third gear...at that point I had major turbo lag...studdered so I short shifted into 4th.

 

Still, bad turbo aside, good representing. Next time use race gas Good race regardless of the out come. MR2's are quick, alot of AW11 owners are swapping in the 2sgte from the SW20, those engines are no joke when boosted. I see these cars as good rivals for us. FCs vs AW11s and FDs vs SW20's. If you have any more vids I love to see them.

 

Been there, done that...sucks to have stuff fail on you but its part of the game!

It seems that with a healthy snail and a tad more boost it would be a pretty even race. You might even win. lol

 

Yeah honestly I think if my snail was in healthy condition it would've been good....but if I had more boost I dont think he could've pulled on me. Regardless it's gonna go down again when I get the snail fixed and re-tuned.

 

Good race, just give them the Ol' Damn third gear!!!!

No offense taken man. It's quite funny though, but you know I went into that race expecting to lose b/c I knew that my car wasn't at it's full potential. I did better than I thought I would've.

 

Nice Race!! I am MR2 fanatic and IMHO the motor in the MR2 is the greatest motor from the motherland. Looking forward to the rematch hopefully the results exceed your expectations. What turbo is in that MR2?
