Figured I'd make an intro thread. I don't currently own a RX-7 but I've long admired them. Seeing a clean Titanium Gray FD3S on the road yesterday sparked a renewed interest in these cars so I've come here to research, maybe look for a nice car for sale, etc. I just finished up a Mazda Miata father/ son project with my dad so now there's an empty space in my garage waiting to be filled. The Miata used to be my daily driver for 10 years before I gave it to my dad. He enjoyed it for a few years until we decided it needed a new motor to replace the tired 1.6L. Here's how it sits now.

All my other car and motorcycle related stuff can be found at my site www.addlightness.com

Good luck in your search. Be patient and the right one will come along... Also, nice Miata!

Thanks Mike! Yeah, with prices for FD3S on the rise, I'm torn between jumping on the escalator ASAP before prices get totally out of reach, or resigning myself to buying a basketcase project car and rebuilding it from the ground up. I guess I need to decide what my goals are and be realistic with my budget and how much time I have to work on things. There's lots of good inspiration on this site. But I'm sure there's lots of blood, sweat and tears involved in many of the nicer builds.

Nothing wrong with picking up a basket case project, just be ready and willing to spend the money to complete the project and don't worry about what could have been if you were to buy one complete.
I made a budget, bought a project FD, and now im about $10k over my budget number haha. Would I change my choice? I don't think so... Even though the budget is blown, and it would have been a better buy to get one complete, I love my garage time and I got to build the car "I" wanted. Whether you buy a basket case or a turn key you wont regret it.
