Wichita, KS New Member - '93 RX7
Hello all, I am the proud new owner of a 1993 RX7. I'm a long time Porsche guy, but have loved the FD ever since I was 13. A friend of mine's father bought this one new, it was a CA car up until this year when he passed away. Said friend shipped the car to his home in MD, where he quickly found that he was too tall to comfortably drive it. Knowing that I would restore the car to its past glory, we were able to swing a deal and it showed up in KS this week.
The car is a 1993 Touring with 110k. Very comprehensive rebuild was done at 105k at a Mazda dealer including a remanufactured engine, all new hoses, radiator, AST, and clutch. Mostly original paint in pretty mediocre condition, original interior with lots of sticky chipped parts, no modifications. It drives very well except for tired suspension, which will quickly be resolved. The interior is already stripped, I plan to have all of the glossy black panels recovered in a 3M dry carbon style wrap. It will get dropped off for paint tomorrow, so I'm not wasting any time. My overall vision is a mildly modified car with some quality upgrades and cool OEM/JDM bits. I won't be getting crazy, as reliability is my #1 priority as I intend to really enjoy this car.
