Whatsuuupppp - Japan
Sup guys. new rotary owner here. Currently stationed on Kadena AFB on the wonderful island of Okinawa japan. Been a long time Mazda fan (owned 2 miatas and am a faithful to the B09 and 787B)
Just picked this up and want to enjoy it. My buddy who probably prowls on these forums owns one and he's given me some guidance. But I'd like to keep her alive as long as possible. Mostly joined to see if anyone has ever converted an FD overseas to be legal in the states to ship it here (CA)
But yeah... sup

welcome!
I used to work for an importer, so there's really no "legal" way on bringing the car into the states, let alone CA. If you have any other questions, feel free to shoot me a PM!

Welcome, my cousin lives in Japan, in Chiba Prefecture! He has a GR Wagon Impreza STi A-Line. I'm wondering if you can import it to the US of A VIA Canada? Us Canadians can import cars 15 years or older, so I'm thinking if your FD is over 15 years old it MAY be possible to import it to Canada, then to the US.

Well if I can legally get it to the states I can get it shipped for free.. But I don't think the US military will ship it to Canada... Unless I somehow get PCS'd to Alaska or something I don't know.
If this is not possible then I'll just try to mod this up for the least amount of money, sell it for more when I leave and buy another back in Cali.
but she's fine.. got a couple broken interior parts (window button, and the tach doesn't work)
otherwise runs strong and got fat 255s in the back so I'm happy.

Also I might need to know where I can get a driver side window button replacement? I don't know if it's cross compaitble with RHD and LHD. But if you guys could point me in the right direction. Either private seller or a distributor I'm game either way. Or perhaps even a fix? 0.0

Still new to rotaries, but my specialty is flat 6s and I've had loads of experience with LSxs. which both will turn out to be useless out here hahahaha

Yeah dude I'm def game. Made a couple friends, but I have had the rotten luck of dealing with people who's knowledge reaches about as far as the hood release.
