Whats up Wanksters!

Hello,

My name is Dave and right now I am stationed in England. While I was here I bought a 94' Evo2 and was seriously considering paying the price to have it converted and shipped to the states. But that idea has passed and I sold the car last week, I will miss that car.

I will be moving back to the States later this year and new (to me) cars is on the brain. I have my 96' 4runner that will be my one car that I ship home on the govs. dime. I have an A4 tdi that I need to sell, another car that I would love to bring home. I bought the Audi for $2k and the 1.9 gets a whopping 50mpg, about 800 miles per tank.

But I love Jap sports cars and the Rx7 (fd) is one of my favorites. I love the efficiency of the Wankel motor, the sound it makes at top wind up, I think since the first Fast and Furious movie. Corny, but hey... To me its one of the best looking too, but I am not a big fan of the small block swap. Its cool but not my thing.

I'm probably on a dozen forums between Evo's/DSM's, local forums, deisels and off roaders. This forum poped up at top of the google list in my first search for an FD for sale and I like how it has the regional forums. I look forward to meeting other enthusiast and I hope to one day twist my way down the Dragons Tail in my very own Rx7.

Welcome Dave!

The FD is an absolutely incredible car. You will not be disappointed if you get one.

Thanks. I sort of want to limit myself to $5k for initial purchase but after looking around it is looking like I will end up spending closer to $10k. I don't mind doing work, for me its half the fun, but this will be a 3rd car so we'll see.

just got done shopping on tire rack and racked up just under $3k for rims tires, brakes, shocks and wipers

I haven't bought a car yet but one can never be too ready. After looking at... over 20 cars I think, I found a good one. right around $10k and the car is in Texas. just listed late this month so I don't expect it to be around when I am ready to buy so I didn't bother to contact the sell, though I would have liked to.

In a few months I will have the cash to buy, only prob is I am moving soon after. With moving cost and the prospect of possibly a new house, I might have to put off the car for a bit. I am hopping by the end of this year everything should be sorted and maybe I will be able to pick up a car during the winter, might get a better price too.

It seems like I can always find reasons to put the car off because after all, who really needs a 2 seater sports car. But thats not the point. We all have to go some day, so I want to live fast while I can still can.

It's late and I should be in bed, and here I am, ranting about I car I don't own.

I just got done looking at every product that rx7.com offers. That site is awesome! I feel like I have a better idea what people are paying to mod these cars which helps when looking at used modified cars for sale. I would love to have a stock FD but knowing that I would want to mod it anyway, buying a moded car would save me money. I would love to have a 350 hp car that I could take to the 1/8 mile strip, do a track day in and still drive to work in it on nice days or take my son for a joy ride.

I am digging this 93' Touring, Black and Tan I even like the wheels. Price is a bit high but I expect that from a dealer, I figure with a good chunk of cash down they would swing a good deal.
