Unexpected RX7 owner
I'm Doug in Collingwood, ON, Canada.
I've owned a Mazdaspeed 3 for a few years now...absolutely love the thing....but I can't say that I'm a car enthusiast beyond buying a lot of magazines.
A few weeks ago my girlfriend says to me, "My dad has a car that he is selling. Its a convertible so lets go for a drive in it before he gets rid of it." The garage door opens up and there sits a pristine 1988 RX7 convertible. Even I know its near perfect. Completely stock and in pristine condition. I drive it all over the place for a few hours, have dinner, drive some more and take it back to the garage. The next day I find out that he just wants to get rid of it...it has been his baby since 1991 and he has pampered it through the years.
I ask what he wants for it and he says, "A wholesaler has offered me $1500 so I guess thats what I'll take." Now, a few weeks later, we are just about to finish all the paperwork and government regulations so that I will be the new owner. He's happy that it is going to someone who will appreciate it. I'm happy because I'm getting an unbelievable deal.
Here are some shots of it and my other baby.
I'm looking forward to joining some cruise runs with other RX guys and learning more about it. Ya, I'll probably sell it at the end of the summer but who knows...I may fall in love.
