A Typical Engineer...

When all else fails, read the instructions! I finally work out how (and more importantly, where) to post....

So about myself -

I have an FD R1 in police friendly shiny red, with a case of terminal secondary turbo as far as I can make out. Not to worry, a nice set of replacement 2nd hand JDM turbo's are on their way from FASTASSTURBO2.

Hopefully they're the post '99 abradeable housing turbo's, but he wasn't sure. Still beggars can't be choosers & I didn't fancy the $2.5k pop for some new ones right now!

The car is "reasonably stock" - still seq turbo (well when the secondary works!) with pineapple mild street port, DP, high flow cat, cat back, PFC, & fuel mods (supra pump, 1300cc secondaries automotive FPR for future tweaking).

The goal is about 350 rwhp which I think should be possible with the stock turbo setup from what I read/discussed with rob golden @ pineapple.

I'm pretty handy with the spanners, though it took me time to actually do work on the RX. Back in the UK I rebuilt a Lotus Eclat - engine/gearbox/replaced chassis/replaced cockpit trim etc., so I don't mind getting my hands dirty, which is just aswell!

Already had to troubleshoot fuel system probs, primary injectors got stuck after being sent out for cleaning when I replaced the connecting pipe between the primary & secondary fuel manifolds, which had split - If you smell fuel it could be this. I reckon I was very lucky not to have had RX7 flambe!

Good to be aboard at last.

Cheers, John
