The story of my 7
Hello! my name is Adam and this is the story of how I came to know and love the RX-7, as well as how I acquired my first and only 7... so far!
2000
As not too many people would admit, I imagine, I first fell in love with the 7 when I first saw Fast and Furious. I just loved the sound and body lines of Vin Diesel's FD. I was 15, and decided that I wanted my first car to be an FD( Fat chance right? ). After talking with my parents about it, they said I could have one if it was under three grand! I searched the local listings and found an 87 for 1300. As I did not know anything about generations or body styles, I thought that I had found one (It took a friend from school to show me pictures of the two for me to understand I was mistaken). But you know what? I liked the looks of the FC as much as I did the FD and since I found out that there was no way I could afford an FD, I set my sights on an FC. Unfortunately, during this realization period, the 87 was sold and I could not find another one.
2004
Four years later, I had still not found a 7 to call my own. Noone had one for sale close enough to me to buy unless they wanted more than I could afford. I was about to give up when it finally happened; I went to pick up a friend from an apartment showing when I saw a red 87 n/a in the parking lot! I went from apartment to apartment trying to find out who it belonged to with no luck. Finally, out of desperation, I placed a note on the windshield saying I wanted to buy it with my phone number on the bottom. Three weeks pass and out of the blue I get a phone call from the owner saying I could have it for 800. Needless to say, I was driving home in my new 7 the next day! Over the next year, I drove it, added a factory spoiler, hung out with a buddy who had also found an FC, and finally parked it into the old man's garage and stripped the interior to begin rebuilding it into exactly what I wanted. But then...
2010
...life happened. I went away to college, got married, and had two children. Getting everything set up and taken care of has taken alot of time and money and so I never had time and money to work on my 7 . And so, my 7 has remained in that garage, safe from the elements, waiting for me to get to it. Now, six years later, I am going to finally be able to return working on my 7 and get it up and running again!
This is the story of my 7.

I will get pics this weekend because I will need to pick the kids up from an overnight. I couldn't this last weekend because everyone has been sick!
I want to clarify because it sounds like you may have misinterpreted what I meant in the last part of my story. My wife has been nothing but supportive in my automotive hobbies, (in fact, she has a mirage/evo IV swap I had been working on with her ) all I was trying to say is that between getting married, having kids, and getting through school I just haven't had any time or dispensable income to work on the 7. But now that things are starting to stabilize and debt is starting to be paid off, I finally have some money to play with!
