Soon to be new FD Owner

Heyo,

I'm picking up my new to me FD on Monday in Winnipeg (I live well north of that haha), so I thought I would join here. I'll mostly be reading/learning and shopping for used parts, but I have a background in mechanical engineering, so hopefully I'll have the odd bit of useful input as well.

I've wanted an FD for a very long time, and finally pulled the trigger. I used to drive a Mazdaspeed Protege, but had to get a truck when I moved up north. Driving a truck just isn't the same, so I picked up the FD as a toy that I can take to the track a few times a year (and drive around town in the summer as well).

I've attached a pic of my new baby as well.

If anyone is in northern Manitoba ever, give me a shout!

Ben

I picked it up out of BC from one of the importers. PM me if your interested and I'll let you know from where (and my experiences since haha).

Car is going in for the safety today - had a coolant leak that I had to fix and such, but its on the road now with temp insurance. Its sweet!

Update

My car has been through inspection and passed, and now has plates on it!

However, when I went to take it to work this morning, I had low coolant. Turns out one of my AST hoses (that goes back the the thermostat cover) had come off. I ziptied it on and filled it back up, but now the rear wiper isn't working and the 4W ABS light is on.

I did a quick check of the fuses and didn't find anything, but I'll have another look at lunch and after work to see if I can sort it out. I believe the ABS and rear wiper are on the same fuse, so I'll check that one again, maybe clean the contacts.

Any other suggestions? I'll post again when I know more of the symptoms of whats happening.

Ben

Update

Went home at lunch, and it seems to be fine. I pulled the rear wiper fuse this morning and put it back in, so it may not have been seated properly.
