Hi. I'm matt
let me tell you about this deal I came up on
So I just scored an 87 (I think, i have 5 cars might be wrong) FC RX7 the car was a Turbo 2 but it was converted to NA. (S4 with S5 internals)
I am on this really crappy netbook. so I only have one picture available at the moment.
So anyways a Buddy of mine had this thing with like a crazy turbo setup and it followed the stereotype and blew itself into a million pieces and he couldn't afford to fix it so he traded some stuff for the stuff to make this setup.
So it got a fresh rebuild and I had expressed interest in buying it for something around 2500 bucks when it was all put together.
So the guy tells me he cant get it to start.
I go over there and after 1 second of cranking it I grab a wrench and loosen up the distributor/Cam angle sensor whatever the hell it is (New to rotorys, cant you tell?) and turn it all the way to one side and it fires right up but runs meh. So with that I suggest he work on the timing.
A week later He tells me he cant get it to run any better and he is fed up. So I offer him a thousand bucks crash and limp it home.
adjust the timing and the TPS and find the idle screw on the throttle body backed all the way out. welded over a few holes in the exhaust. unclogged the Cat (read that as jammed a pry bar into the cat until hollow) and now it runs pretty good. not perfect but pretty good for a rotory I am told
future plans include new Sparkplugs, and some coilovers. The intent of this car is to be my drift **** missile. I have an SR powered AE86 as a primary drift car that is on the tail end of a year long build and I have been practicing in this RX7 because even lame stock suspension seat time is seat time.
Anyways thats the story of my thousand dollar RX7 with a freshly rebuilt motor
