Talking An Rx7 story from a fan(atic)

Hey everyone, my name is Levi from northern Arizona. Guess I can tell you all a little bit about myself and my rx7 history. Back in 04 I bought my first car (which happened to be an 85 in really nice shape) picked it up for 2,600 dollars, a little bit high but was my first car so naturally excited. When driving it home it overheated causing the coolant seals to blow out (disappointing later to find out it was just the fan clutch went bad). So my first car was officially useless with coolant boiling out the exhaust and radiator, I was left with two choices either bite the bullet and rebuild or scrap it. I chose to rebuild and what an experience! I knew nothing about cars or mechanics when I dove into the project when I came out of I was a different person.
With my haynes manual in hand and my father close beside me for tips I went head first into something neither I nor anyone I knew had ever overtaken. It went slowly but surely after several months of saving up money researching and just being generally lazy, I eventually came out on top. With a motor freshly sealed with several new parts along with I had overcome the challenge. Never to forget the awesome fun and learning experience. But then came the dark side... In the mean time I had bought another car to daily drive while I worked on the 7, my dad told me to get rid of one of them or else he would just tow it to the junk yard. I made the painful decision to sell my Rx7 for 300 dollars because the carb was messed up a little wouldn't run quite right, whatever the case, I don't know but I wasn't happy about it!

Fast forward 5 or so years... Here I am again, after building a 11 second 94 camaro feeling unsatisfied, I got the Rx7 in my head. I thought to myself I loved that car so much its about time I got another. Searching craigslist in Phoenix I found a kid with an 84 that he wanted to trade for an xbox360 and a shotgun. Who knew... I had just those things. I called him and traded him that very day, one week ago today I became again what I have longed to be, an owner of a first gen rx7 almost identical to my own first car! Its a little rough around the edges and flooded when I got it, but it started and ran after a little persuasion of deflooding, new gas, carb cleaner, starting fluid, seafoam, plugs and wires.

Just wanted to share my little Rx7 story with you all and I am very happy to be here!

Welcome.

Definitely not a good idea to run seafoam in a rotary. Get that oil changed pronto and get that stuff out of the system.

um... what?
If he used it as a fuel additive or hooked it up to a vacuum line so it got sucked straight into the combustion chamber he should be fine.

If he dumped it in with the oil he could run into some problems.

eh just ran it through the combustion chamber to clean that nasty gas/oil sludge up some, ran some autolites to burn it off ordering some ngks for actual running. hopefully that will fix the little stumbling i have. should have seen the plugs that were in there.... nasty
