RX-7 in MN
My name is Jake, I have owned a 1983 rx-7 gsl for about a year now. I am a mechanical engineering student with a interest in old cars. I have worked on a 85 cabriolet, a 67 mustang, and now most recently my rx7.
So far I have been things as stock as possible, with my primary interest keeping everything running as it is intended. My only serious project that wasn't dedicated to keeping the car rolling was my replacement of the radio and speakers. Only one speaker was still functional while playing from cassettes and the radio itself could no longer pick up a broadcast. Ripped it all out, put it new. Made a custom adapter from some junkyard parts and some spare aluminum stock so the radio doesn't look to tacky. (still a modern radio in an old car, but a working original proved to difficult to find)
Bunch of other things have required replacement, belts, sensors, and so on. No real point in listing that work I have done on the car, everyone is going to have to have done that.
Anyhow, that is the basics. Current problem is headlights, but this isn't the place to post about that.
