I have had a few RX7;s in the past.

My love for them started in High School in 1991 when my parents bought me a 84 GS, which later while driving down a two lane highway I had a tire blow out causing me to crash head on into a Chrysler K-Car.

In 1995 after joining the Air Force and being stationed in Alaska, I was driving down the road in my 1990 300ZX and spotted a 1994 RX7 R2 in a dealer lot. It was only a year old and had less than 5000 miles on it. I had to have it! I drove it in the summer months until 1997 when I got out of the Air Force. I had to leave it in Alaska as I could not afford the payments or insurance without a job. I sold it with 17,000 miles on it. In the winter months I drove a 87 GXL.

Left Alaska and headed to Virginia where I had to have a RX7 as my daily driver. I came across a 1st gen, it was either a 84 or 85, not sure what model, but I remember I paid cash for it somewhere around $1000, but only had it for 1 or 2 weeks before I came across a 1987 Turbo ll. I traded in the FB and drove the FC until the engine popped in 2000.

In 2002 I moved to Florida and came across a guy selling a 86 GXL for $400. The complete car was there and was in really good shape, but he said it didn't run. I bought it, had it towed home. Battery was dead, so I put a new one in so I could determine why the engine wouldn't run, and low and behold, it started right up. I drove that car on occasion as I had a collection of other Mazdas at the time including my current 2003 MPV, a 2002.5 Protege 5 that I built a motor and turbocharged it, a 2006 Mazda 3, a 1991 MX6 GT, and a 1990 B2200.

In 2006 it was time to move to Arizona, and could only take 2 cars with me, so I (meaning my wife) choose the MPV and the Mazda 3. While in Arizona, I stayed away from tinkering with cars (more so that the wife was tired of me spending money on cars).

So here it is 2010 and I have just moved to Texas and I have been looking at getting another RX7. My ideal RX7 would be a S5 Turbo ll white with black leather and i want to restore it to factory condition and use it as a daily driver.

Time for a new wife!

Just kidding lol. So you are certainly not new to the rx7 game! Welcome back... Good luck finding an S5 TII, they are getting harder and harder to find, practically harder than FDs.
