VA Rotary noob in Northern VA

Greetings all. My name is Fadi and I come to you from Northern Virginia.

I've been searching constantly in the last ~8 months about rotaries and this forum constantly comes up with a bunch of useful info. And now that I have some dorritos in the garage, I figure I'll finally register and post, because I'm going to have plenty of questions.

My car isn't a standard Mazda RXx, in fact it isn't a Mazda at all. I'm building a Donkervoort D8 RS06 inspired car. Which in itself is a Lotus 7 inspired car. I knew I wanted to build my own frame up car, but since it would be a track car, the unprotected exposure in a typical LoCost 7 is out of the question. I want to be able to walk away in the event of an 'incident'. So when I saw the D8 RS06, I knew what I wanted, although for simplicity it will be open cockpit. I started with a donor Mazda Miata, took the subframes on a work table and set the wheelbase. From there it was simply a mater of building the frame between.

Originally I was going to use the donor Miata's drivetrain, because it only cost me some machine shop labor and parts to rebuild (I have owned the donor car since '01, so I know it's history). But somewhere along the line last year I bought another Miata that needed an engine, so it went there.. So that left me with a motorless chassis, and I figured the rotary would be a perfect power plant.

So.. Earlier this year I picked up a 13b from a RePU. It had new housings, and new seals and the plates were resurfached. Only problem is the guy I got it from had dissembled it to inspect but due to health was unable to complete, so I was feeling adventurous. I was out of my element... Boxes of rotary parts is no place for a beginner. If anyone is in my area and want to help, I'd appreciate it. But, this past weekend, I did find another engine, it's a running (and complete ) 86 6-port with an RB intake. So the plan is to put that in as the main power plant, then go back as I learn more and bridge the 4-port and swap later.

So that's where I am now. Here is a picture of the bare chassis. 2x3" for the main frame, and 1.5"x.120 DOM for the rest. It's more than this now, but life has slowed me down.
