Rob from N. California
Hi,
I'm the current custodian of a 1990 GTUs. The body is in good shape, but has been stored for quite some time. However, the engine has gone soft and needs a rebuild.
I'm currently debating whether to do an actual restoration, or more of a resto-mod. If I chose the latter path, I'm thinking of a Renesis motor swap in keeping with the normally aspirated theme of the GTUs. I'm aware of some of the challenges, and am reading up on the topic to find out just how deep the rabbit hole goes, given that I would need to comply with California DMV and emissions regs.
Regards,
Rob
