Hey I;m not new to RX7's but this Gen1 Carb version i am. Been in electronics all my life, have had 3 Rx's a 1984 Fi, 85 fi and now a 84 Carb version, live in DFW area, I have loved Rx's since my first in 1984, easy to manuver, quick, and not too bad on gas. I like Harleys, scuba, wrenching on sports cars but this one has me stumped.
I've had 3 rx's.got a gen 1 now was running good, lost a tps, then an igniter,thought all would be well, had already been then thru carb, then lost shutter valve diaphram blew, so i blocked it off, went thru carb again, set up floats with digital caliper to specs ,61-.65 one way and 1.99 "-2.01 other side cleaned all and runs like crud, think my needles stuck too or filter clogged,bowls were clean,blew out all jets,!@#$ will look at float needles and change filter tomorrow,will a bad alc restricter in line cause these problems, it idles rough, starves under load no power, was running much better before stutter valve blew and I went in. its killing me, also gas mleage went from about 22-25 to 13-15 mpg any ideas?
