revived build (6 year plan)

Hi Everybody,
My name is Andrew!

Well I might as well start from the beginning. I bought my 1990 S5 TII back in 2007, and have been through hell and back with trying to get this thing road worthy.

Purchased for $250 off someone I thought I was getting the steal of a lifetime. From a first glance it looked like all it would need was good elbow grease, and some tweaking. Boy was I wrong.

My first course of action was to attempt to get the car put in my name. I live in CT, I bought the car from someone in RI. He never had the title transferred (not necessary in RI) or registered in his name. Normal course of action is to find the person that last had the car registered, and have them sign a bill of sale, and transfer of title (notarized). He wouldn't do it. So from there I had to find an insurance company that would bond the car for me before I could have it in my name. This process took 3 years.

Meanwhile, looking over the car there seemed to be very few issues going on mechanically, the exterior was pretty good (minus the front end being pushed in a bit) and the interior is mint.

So while waiting for all the paper work to go through we decide to get the car started. Can't do it. It's got spark and fuel, tries to turn over just won't go. I bring a friend over that is very familiar with RX7s owned two, helped with multiple swaps. He says blown seals, needs a build, recommends a shop that has done all his work. I go with it thinking this is great, I'll have a rebuilt engine streetported back in the car in no time. 6 months to a year go by and I'm still waiting for this engine. Finally after multiple visits I go in just to find out my engine has been stolen. He ends up giving me his engine which resolved the issue, even though I don't know what was done to this motor. I was looking for a mild streetport and now I have no idea what this is (will post pics).

Other than that things have been slowly coming together 2 steps forward 1 step back haha. I'll have a list of parts added, motor to drop in very soon. Any suggestions would be great. I've found lots of technical info which has helped a lot like rotaryresurrection, and rotaryheads.

My immediate issues are I need the omp lines cause i just broke mine. Would love ss braided, I've seen atkins but it's plastic.

And a new pre silencer something high flow but with the cat.

I've been coming to this site for a while never really posted anything so I thought I'd say hi.

250 is a pretty good deal though considering you got a car that wasn't running. Were there any performance parts that came with it?

Nope but there was a bunch of stuff that was needlessly taken apart like the speakers were out and seats off the rails and stuff haha.
