A quick hello

Hi guys, my name is Tommy.
I recently acquired my 2nd fc. An 86 base model with 131k miles. Runs like a top, exterior is straight (one ding, two small rust areas) but the interior, mostly dash, looks like a bear attacked it.

About 12-13 years ago I drove around in a beater of an 88se. Learned a lot about driving with that car. But wasn't so inclined to work on it. In the years since I've jumped in and out of the automotive world, metal fab, body work, general pro-touring car building stuff. I stopped working at shops because it made me lose my passion for cars as a hobby.

Anyway, I've noticed this 86 base has some funny little details about it that I haven't seen before, rear cubbies covered by oem carpet, with plywood "doors" hidden, to name one thing. And it has all the common issues, radio bezel destroyed, exterior door handles both broken, and an interior full of rattling plastic. So interior resto as well as custom stereo stuff is definitely where I will be starting on this dd/project car. I've got a set of 15x7 +38 wheels to replace the phone dial 14's that are currently on the car. And a set of full coil overs sitting on a shelf. Not sure if I will install these as the stock suspension has new struts/shocks and is quite stiff.

Anyway, quick hello turned into a story, sorry about that. Have a good one everybody.
