With my 8? Not at all, still running strong and flawless at her 70k miles. Love it!

Yes I do watch my local craigslist but haven't got a luck finding some 7 which fits me best (mainly $$$) I've been thinking to trade my 8 for a 7 but my initial idea is to have both sitting in my garage

interested about the rx8 power

so how is the rx8 treating you. does it have enough power to say its fun. i have heard a lot of things about the rx8 and they all say it is meteocor. is this true cause i never talked to an rx8 owner.

Just like reh4b mentioned, it lacks the boost but it's pretty much balanced; comfortable + nice road feel. It looks nice too especially yellow like mine hehe.

You can get a decent turbo or supercharger kit for the RX-8 and break 300 rwhp reliably. It's a really fun car. I've drove a 3rd gen for a summer, and although that was a really fun ride, for me there is no comparison between that car and my supercharged RX-8.

I work with a guy that drives a 6sp. RX8 year round, just because he lacks another car. He loves it through and through. Says winter tires realy help, but it isn't that bad with all seasons, either.

Its a rotary powered bubbly miata imo. you could have more fun with a mx6. yes I own a 95 mx6 LS V6 (daily driver) and its a lot of fun. but not near as much as the 7.

FL Rx-8 vs Rx-7

hey i tell you what, those Rx-8s look really sporty and i love their interior with the rear seats and all that, but they seem to lack some power to me, unless you go Turbo and then its a different animal, my brother in law owns one, he recently had problems with the factory coils or the igniton, cant remember well? but the car wouldnt start, change the plugs and they hallow the catalityc converter, with no luck, actually i think it fried the coils, anyways i smoke him with my first gen all the time, hahaha, but this could also be driver error, i give him the benefit of the doubt, u know this cars have become really cheap now i wonder why, u know no disrespect to your Rx-8 because at one point i wanted one, until my brother in law had those problems for a while, good luck finding an rx7, hope the Rx-8 keeps running strong, take care........

The rx8 looks really nice and has a great stock suspension. My buddy used to own one and the drive was great, very good suspension in general!

it lacks a lot of power and you need to put up a serious fight to not lose to a lighlty modded civic si. if anything though, i feel it's made me a much better driver since i really had to hone my driving skills

Well guys, don't compare the 8 and 7, they are basically in a different league. RX 7 of which I believe is designed as a pure sport-car.

Adding HP with minor performance upgrade to the 8 is kinda hard, unlike DSM of which I previously owned. Slap this, slap that you easily got extra HP. Therefore like someone mentioned before, turbo is the way to go.

I really love the overall design and interior, it's sporty and well designed. Don't forget, those extra seats on the back help!!!

It's easy to forget that the Rx8 wasn't build solely for speed. The overall balance, handling, interior and exterior aesthetics, as well the 4-seater saloon/coupe design with suicide doors make the Rx8 one of the kind. It is also very easy to drive and also to drive it fast.

As far as I know, the RX-8 comes stock with more power than any NA rotary powered car ever, and with a simple supercharger or turbo setup running 8psi you can make 50 more bhp than a stock series 8 RX-7.

BTW, I ate a N02'd Civic SI for dinner a couple of Sundays ago. It was delicious.

funny how a lot of people are trying to do the same thing..so we all just jump on a thread to say something. Well I have a Protege5 ironically with RX-8 wheels. looks quite nice actually. I get a lot of compliments, even from non-Mazda owners. But I want a 7 now, so here I am trying to get my post in so that I can get my hands on one of these deals before they all sell out.
