Proud new rotary owner from NJ

Hello all. My name is Matt and I just picked up a 1988 red convertible with the power options and headrest speakers and other little cool things.

I have never owned a rotary so I am pretty excited to be here. Everything is great with the car except for one tire, the motor for the soft top, the outer door handles dont open the door, and the passenger power window regulator (which Im having a terrible time trying to find)

Thanks for keeping up the site, Im looking forward to being a part of the community!

HEy! Im back, ive been so busy with work. Got the car rockin' and rollin'. I drove it for about a month, and then one day I turned it around in the driveway, and it was over - no spark at all. Im still in the process of diagnosing it. Its getting fuel and all other systems are go, except for spark... so i guess ill figure it out soon enough!

Other than the spark, but main concern is trying to get some sort of collector car or limited production proof. I will not be driving it much, just the sunday drive in nice weather type of thing, so I would REALLY like to save some on insurance. if anyone has any insight on how to convince NJ that this car qualifies for collector registration, please let me know!

88 rx7 convertible.

- Matt

Can't you register it as an antique? They let you do that if they are old enough and you drive them on the weekends here in CT. I don't know about NJ, but I'm pretty sure RI is the same. I'd look into it.

Here in CT, the rule is 25 years and you don't have to pass emissions. I have an 87. One year off! This makes me so sad.
