CO Possible new Owner

Well looks like I may become the proud new owner of an '84 RX7 thats been converted to racecar duty (sorry folks have a Miata for my DD) so figured Id poop in here to start getting to know more about rotary engines and carbs while I wait for the final details to come together.

Little background on me; Born and raised in Colorado, racing is in my blood (road racing mainly) currently DD and do minor race duty with a '97 Miata (PDX, Autocross and Drag) but as the money comes together Ive been getting more and more into road racing as thats my true ultimate goal as far as motorsports is concerned. Looking to become a carrer mechanic once I get all my schooling done and if at all possible I do all my own work on my cars but unfortunatly thats not always possible . Anyways hopefully Ill be spending more time on here if the RX7 deal pans out.

Hehe Im one of the several Patrick's in Colorado that currently race (last count I belive was 4-5) as far as getting wind of the possible purchase goes an old race friend has been talking for years that she might be selling her Spec 7 (regional RX-7 class) and yesterday posted an ad on the local SCCA forums for it, sent off a few emails and actully got an old(er) friend of my dad to agree to pay the $5k for it and the trailer. Now Im just waiting on a reply with the full list of details and trying to find a place to store it.

Yep but unless its a case of blizzard like conditions we still race in the snow, the Enduro we had last year we ended up passing out icescrapers at registration due to the snow and ice. But for the most part except in april may august and september the racing seasson just has rain and heat to deal with (typically runs end of march first of april to either late september or october)

Final details just came in today and besides the fact that the trailer is about double what we were guessing (selling it was an afterthought apparently) looks like Im getting myself an RX7 racecar ($4200 for car $1600 for almost new trailer) (we need a bounce with joy emoticon :P)
