Picking up a new track car.
Hey everyone, I'm from Ontario canada, I am involved in several forms of motor sports, I help organize and run ice racing events in the winter and I also run the accasional autocross my motor sports club puts on once a month. But I'm most dedicated to oval track racing every friday and saturday night (2 diffrent speedways) during the summer months.
I have been looking to get into drifting and time attack next summer and was keeping an eye out for some vintage japanese steel since I have a soft spot for that. I was originally thinking 71 240Z or a TE71 corrola but those are pretty popular cars and I've never seen an FB at any motor sports events, although grassroots motorsports magazine seems to cover them a lot. But around here its something diffrent. A little flavour in a sea of S13's.
Anyways, I came acrossed a 85 gls se that has been sitting in a barn since 99, the car is in really good shape minus a little rust on the driver side door at the bottom. I have another project on the go right now so I wont be starting on the rx7 until probly april or may but I wanted to get a head start on my education before tearing into this car and I found myself here. The fact this car is rotary powered made it that much more appealing to me because before yesterday I knew nothing of how they worked. Now that I've read up on it I dont know why everything isnt rotary powered, the design is so simple and efficient.
Here are a few quick pics of my current oval track car a 97 cavalier which i am currently selling. Its not as competitive as it used to be since they allowed 16 valve engines into the class. I have a 94 Integra I'm building for next year to replace this. Then once that is complete I'll start on making the FB into a track car.
Some of you may recognize this paint scheme...

I guess I'm posting pictures of the wrong car to get any attention around here, lol
I'll see if I can get some pics of the FB in the next few weeks, I might go pick it up sooner than i had planed.
