Outside of DC!
Hello! My name is Becky and I've owned a 1988 GXL for about 9 years now. Bought it when I started college (2001) because when I test drove it (was owned by my father's business partner) I fell in love with how it felt. Unfortunately, being an 18 year old with a lead foot meant that the poor thing had not a chance to live long. it made it through my college days and a move to Northern VA, right outside of the DC area. Since about July of 2005, the poor thing has been just sitting there. Between starting a new job and then buying a house a few years later, I just haven't had the money to fix the poor thing. And being in this area, it will not pass emissions with the "James Bond Smoke Screen" that comes from the tail pipes. I'm assuming the seals are shot, but I don't know enough to really diagnose.
Either way, since my job is moving me to Indiana (yeah, I know, going from the BIG CITY life to small farm town life), I have to sell it soon. It's a sad ending to my life as an RX-7 owner, but I'm also hoping to get another one later on.
So that's my story in short about the car I love and now have to leave. Either way, just saying hello to the community!
