TX Old Guy Back Again - but now in Texas

Steve - Austin Texas..

I was here years ago when I lived in Socal Actually it was a newsgroup at first
and then it was.. I thought rx7.org? Anyway, it was a long time ago.

I still have it archived... somewhere. Last time I was here I used to correspond
with someone named Drew - wound up buying their CYM (my 3rd Rx7) when
they bought an NSX and finally sold it in 2000 when I moved to Washington -
around the time the first group buy here for plastic bushings..

Anyway, I saw a CYM for sale in IL a few weeks ago (I believe it's my old one) and the VR in Tustin (know that one too) but thought I'd look around for another RX7 to restore from the ground up so figured I'd come back and look for one here.
It used to help to keep cars in the club.

TX Project Planning Phase almost complete. :P

Well, I've tracked down several potentials..

Ideally I'd want a straight roller in CYM R1 or a black R2 but am
not sure how long I'd be waiting so ...

My first choice was RoadWarrior's. I was going to justify getting
it for my girlfriend *wink* but she's going to be out of the country
a bit longer so I have to go with something a little less shiny if I
get it for myself.

The stock silver 94 R2 was nice and in budget but never got a PM
response and cannot post yet because I don't have enough points.

I looked at the car in Fort Hood. It's got clean title and 103k miles
on the last carfax and $2k rims so the car is really about 5k but
the jspec motor looked like it had been sitting quite a while and
it needs paint and turbos and no room to flip and not what I want
for myself.

The $12k Silver R2 in Houston is just too much even with 12 miles.

It's down to an original owner running black base or a red roller.
$6k vs $10k. I'll probably go with the red base and p/u a new
LS3+Tranny for 10k. Add another 3k in parts and we're at 19k
and I'll paint myself and drive it for the next 10 years.

No way is that really him!? Btw his CYM RX-7 that he was selling a few months ago, if it was me i would never sell it. That car was priceless and mouth dropping and drolling all over the concrete. Anyway a fan here! Welcome to the club(even though i still don't have my RX7 :P )!
