Hey whats up guys, I'm a 3000GT owner myself but I hope to get into an FD sometime within like a year or so. Why buy a pratical car when you can have toys lol. I figured I'd sign up here and work on getting an education before I end up diving in. Theres something about ported rotary sound that is irresistable. Really can't wait to anger the neighbors, haha.
Anyhow I'll be poking around here frequently. I hope you guys are as cool as the guys over at 3SI.
I'll leave you guys with a picture or two of what I do drive.

thanks!

It's a goal to achieve, more toys =P. Why have a pratical car since I'm young and don't need the reliablity or people carrying capacity =P. I figure the average going price of an FD is 10-11k although I'd like to pick one up between 5-8k if possible as a bit of a project, theres so much I'd like to do it would be sad to modify a perfect specimin

So basically here's what happened since 2011. Every time I saved a few bucks something came up, usually one of the 3000s broke. Just wasn't in the budget to get an FD. Not too long after this post I found a sweet deal on a 240sx convertible and I bought that. Was a KA-T and dented up pretty good but the frame was clean, rust free and straight. So I bought and built that. It was ugly but I managed to part out the KA-T, and then put in an SR20. By that time the entire project only ran me about $1500 running and driving SR powered lol. And then I went wild on that.
Day I got it:
Now:
As you can see I drift the **** out of it and it's absolutely AWESOME. Car runs fantastic and man is it fun to drive. The project has, much more quickly than I expected, gotten pretty much to completeion. I just need some good FIA seats and harnesses for drifting and that's that. Don't need any more horsepower and I've got a decent suspension setup. If I build it the only thing I'm going to do is spend more money on tires.
And lets fast forward to 48 hours ago. i took delivery of my new to me 93FD. Was owned by a friend of a friend. I've been looking for one of these cars obviously for years now and recently since nothing has been exploding with the cars and I haven't been frivolously buying parts, my bank account and a deal met exactly where they need to be.
She has a salvage title due to a drivers side accident many years ago, I cannot find one flaw because of it however. The chassis is perfectly straight, and extremely extremely rust free. It has new Megan coil overs on it and two sets of wheels, one being the yellow powdercoated rotoform wheels pictured, which don't even have dirt on them yet lol. Motor is out of the car which is fine because besides having to figure out where things go from scratch, I can start my relationship with this car with a fresh engine.
My plans are really to rebuild the motor nearly stock. Any "mods" to the wankel would only be for increasing reliability, if there is such a thing. Eventually I'd like to single turbo it and do a fairly mild build to reach around 400 wheel but first I'm going to start with rebuilding it to a perfectly running stock vehicle. I know these motors are sensitive so I'd like to make sure everything is perfect before modding away. Has an aftermarket exhaust that came with it and that's about it for performance. Anyhow should be fun, I'm really excited.
