How's it going errbody? I'm Nik, and I just bought a '79 RX7. I knew very little about it when I got it. Admittedly, it was a bit of an impulse buy. I've been a Miata guy for a long time, but was looking at 90s Hondas as a DD while I am doing an engine build. I stumbled across my new 7 on Craigslist, and, being that it's on my bucket list, went for it.
It has 4 wheel disks, clutch type LSD, leather wrapped steering wheel, digital clock, 5 speed manual, A/C, sunroof, and electric rear hatch...all of which, to the best of my searching ability, makes it a "Limited Edition." It used to be black, but it was at some point repainted to the military-drab greygreen that it is now. I think it's a factory color, just not on my car specifically.
Additionally, the PO installed stainless brake lines, and an engine from an FB (SA22 spark plugs don't fit, FB plugs do) that appears to have had a rebuild (rotor housings labeled F and R). The ignition has also been converted to electronic.
I'm loving the car. So far, I'm working on repairing the multitude of electrical gremlins behind the dash. At this point, everything works except for the clock and the blower fan. I've done various little repairs here and there, but the car needed nothing major, and is making a fantastic daily driver.
