Hi, I'm new to this club but have owned my 1979 Mazda RX_7 in competition yellow since 1979. This was my first car purchase which was on Cape Cod in Massachusetts. Currently seeing if I can get the old girl running again. I would like any recommendations on a repair shop that may be versed in Rotary engines, currently the car is in Gilford NH, if someone might have any suggestions please let me know. Needs carburetor work I believe. Either a new one or rebuilt. Thanks in advance. Holly

Welcome!! I would love to see pictures of the car and hear about your buying experience with the car when new!! We hear from very few original owners anymore unfortunately.
As for getting it running, we have plenty of people here that are willing to help in any way we can. If we were closer I would love to be able to lend a hand getting the car back on the road. However, you can create a post in the regional section here on the forum and see if s yone has any recommendations to a reputable shop close by where you live.

Glad to see original owners find there way here, welcome! If the car ran when put away, chances are it only needs the tank, carburetor and fuel system cleaned. This would not require a Rotary specialist per say, more of a general auto mechanic. I 2nd Dave's request for pictures. The official name for yellow in 79 is Spark yellow.
