Newbie Member Post re 12A
Hi there, I used to run a 12A in a stripped MGB, It was great fun but I sold it 2 or three years ago and still have a spare 12A & 5 Speed gearbox sitting on the floor of my garage. it seems complete to me and I saw a video of it running on sawhorses when I got it . That said, it has sat for years and is suitable only for parts or rebuild.

welcome to the board, Justin.
sitting around for 5 years, in and of itself, does not mean it will be useless. how it was stored for the last 5 years is more the issue. if it was in a fairly dry place, with all the orifices blocked, then it should be fine. if you had put some oil in the chambers before letting it sit, then that would be even better. if it comes to it, you can even have it compression tested (just make sure it turns first).

I did squirt fogging oil into the spark plug holes and as I type this i realise how little I knew about rotaries at that point
It might well run but I am not going to state that as I don't know. I do know to was removed from an RX-7 to make way for a big V8 for land speed racing.
