Hello,

My name is Nick, and I'm from Maryland. I came on here so I could find information about a problem that the 89 Rx7 that I want to buy has. I don't own one yet, but the one I found is $2000/OBO and I'm thinking about buying it for something to play around with. My daily driver is a 2008 Ford Focus.

If anyone who knows anything about this problem reads this post, let me know what the fix is for it. I have seen many suggestions but no decisive outcomes as far as the car being fixed. Anywho, here is the problem:

I am yet to go see the car, but apparently it starts up, revs to about 3k rpms, and the shuts off. Supposedly, when they keep the gas pedal pushed in it stays on but runs like crap?? I was hoping to find an answer on here; so far I've found threads with suggestions in them but the original posters never posted what the outcome was, i.e. if they fixed the problem and what fixed it exactly. There are threads from 2-3 years ago like this. Right now there are a couple current ones so hopefully the original posters will say if they fixed it and what fixed it.
