New RX7 enthusiast
Hello,
My name is Matt and I'm a huge car enthusiast. Growing up I've worked on LT1/LS1 motors with my brother in his high performance shop out in the Bay Area. I found myself, however, leaning more towards the import scene. I started off buying a 1995 Honda Civic coupe. I lowered it, put rims, and all the usual goodies. I also swapped my own motor with a dual cam and all the good stuff I'm sure you guys don't care too much about =P. One thing I can really say though is I take a lot of pride in my cars and in the work I do with them.
This brings me to why I've come here. I've grown tired of the Honda/Acura scene. Its very shady, personally, and it seems like no one really has pride in their cars. 75% of the cars you run into have been abandoned project, horribly done swaps, and wiring nightmares. When I started reading all the information on this forum I noticed everyone is way more respectful to each other and there is no "right and wrong" way to make your own car.
So I actually joined the Air Force last October and I will be leaving for boot camp in April this year. My AFSC [Air Force Specialty Code] is 2A3 which puts me in Tactical Aircraft Maintenance. It is the exact field I wanted to go into. Mechanically inclined and the next step. These Rotary motors also interest me a lot and I would like to see what really makes these things work.
I look forward to buying my first RX7, preferably an FD3S, after i get out of tech school. =]
Nice to meet you all,
Matt
