New RX-7 owner in KC.
Hey guys. My name is Brandon. I'm a new RX-7 owner. I live in Kansas City.
I have always really liked all generations of RX-7. I daily drive a 2004 VW R32, but I am into cool cars of any make. I decided to get a fun weekend car a couple of months back. I wanted something to cruise around in, modify, and rallycross. I decided to get an RX-7 due to the RWD, light weight, and simplicity. I picked up an 83 GS in Omaha, NE and drove it back to KC. Here's a picture of it in my driveway:
My favorite part? The louvers:
In my month or so of ownership, I've done a complete tuneup, oil change, coolant change, and replaced the o rings on the beehive. All the information I needed was found on this site. Then I decided to rallycross it in the last local event of the season.
Video here:
Now it's time for it to rest for the winter. It has only a TINY speck of rust, so I plan to protect it and try and keep it that way. Future plans include tracking down and eliminating more oil leaks, replacing hatch struts, and maybe an LSD and some snow tires.
Anyway, looking forward to participating on the forum. It's already been very helpful for me.
