New RX-7 owner from Durham/Raleigh NC
Hey Guys,
Names Grant, and I'm going to be picking up my first RX-7 ever on Thursday. Its a 1985 with a 12A and a 5-speed manual transmission, I honestly do know much other than that right now about it.
I've owned a slew of cars of the years, and honestly I own quite a few right now
06 Jeep Liberty CRD Turbo Diesel (Daily Driver that gets 29mpg)
84 Camaro 2.8L auto (blew the transmission got this car for $200 and I've been fixing it for years)
78 Jeep CJ-5 304 V8, Runs, Drives, just needs brake lines
88 C1500 V8 long bed pickup (gets 13mpg no mater what but keeps on kickings)
Anyway I don't know what my plans for the RX-7 are yet, I've wanted one for years and a great deal just came my way so I'm jumping on it. I look forward to hanging out on the boards and driving this rotary engine!
It will be odd though, I've been pretty much only driving my Liberty for the last 10 months, and with its turbo and tune I have on it I rarely see 3,000 rpm from the engine, I usually accelerate pretty quickly with only getting to 2,750 rpm, so its going to be very interesting driving a car that doesn't start red-lining until 7,000 rpm.
