Hi Im Stu, i hail from Vegas, was a Mechanic for 5+ years before i joined the military, never got to work on rotarys (kinda bummed about that, they just never came into the shop for service or repair, which on the flipside is a good thing). My aspiration is to have an FC to use as a DD and possibly take the car to shows!.

 

So 2 weeks ago i picked up a 87 turbo ii runs and drives has a few electrical gremlins and a few oil leaks. And of course that damn oil low light and buzzer randomly comes on. All for the low low price of $500

Still live in Vegas with an RX7? Better invest in some aftermarket cooling systems! Nice find on the FC, hope you get to flesh out your idea man.

 

welcome InfidelDrift sorry didn't notice your post earlier ... we have out local meets Thursday evenings maybe you can join us sometime. Last week we had 14 cars turnout Rx4 SA's, FB's, FC's FD's. and 8's. Not bad for weekly meets

We have plenty of maintained cars running as DD's with little or no "cooling mods" and have no issues ..

And there are plenty of folks that can lend a hand and/or advice when you run into issues

if you see a rotary with a SinCityRotary banner it's one of us

 

Yeah ill definately try and meet up only prob is i work mid shift so ill have to try and figure that out

 

we also have cruises amd other events ... example we'll soon be involved in a toy drive and food drive as well other things

When and where is the next meet and when is this toy drive happening i would love to help out

 

meets are every Thursday ... location determined via a poll ... poll goes up Monday evening and closes Wednesday evening ... info coming on the toy drive

but this will be found on the local forum ... sorry I already update it and the FB page not enough time in the day to update all over

As far as cooling is concerned i just replaced the water pump and thermostat for some reason it never had one installed but as of right now it doesn't run much over a quarter on the temp gauge and ive been driving it to and from work every day

 

Can't wait till I can post about buying one ha

hey guys i just bought a 1988 rx7 13b non-turboed. the problem starts when i go to start it up takes a minute but when it finally starts it back fires . then when i give it gas it has no power. i checked the fuel filter to see if that was the problem but it wasnt so i need some help to try to find the source of the problem.

welcome! im a newbie also...i live close to vegas, about 2 hrs away in southern utah...im looking to jump into the rotary game myself, and thats very cool how chill ppl are down there, i gotta get myself a rotary and show up to one of those meets!
