FL new to the rotary world

hello all, im am glad to be here and hope i can learn alot from all of you here. My name is hugo and i am from miami florida. i recently had the idea to swap a turbo II powerplant into my 1963 nova and was chastized heavily for it on the nova site i visit alot. so knowing im not gonna get any real help with this swap over their i decided to try this site and hopfully get a better reception than i did befor on the last one. i have already bought a strong running doner car and am in the process of pulling out the current 400 chevy small block to start fabing in the rotary. i think the actual swap will not be to bad. but once this is done im sure i will be asking lots of questions on setup and tuning.well again thanks for having me and i look forward to being here.

Welcome aboard, Hugo. Yea, that is definitely a different kind of swap. before everyone "goes there", the 1963 Chevy Nova is actually quite a light car as far as domestic iron goes. I'm still thinking a lack of low end torque is going to hurt a little, though.

hey mar3 thanks for metioning the weight thing. actually the chevyII has a lower curb weight than the 2nd gen im using for a doner. and that is with a heavier engine so after this swap the difrence will be like losing about 500lbs from a 2gen.

Very nice...thanks for info. That's def not something most gearheads think about when it comes to comparing imported cars vs the domestic stuff....which ones weigh about the same, which ones are heavier, etc. Good info there!

nova's aren't well known at high speeds to be a comfortable ride, so just be carefull and keep 4 tires on the road!

agreed that old school suspesion left alot to be desired but with new technology and far better suspension parts available and new rubber on the ground they are very nice cars and can handle very well.
