New to rotary engines

Hey guys. New to the forum and RX7's as well. Always been a Honda man but recently had the opportunity to purchase my 93 twin turbo from the original owner...my cousin. I'm learning every day a little bit more about what I'm dealing with, but it's definitely completely different lol. I like to be hands on as much as possible with my automotive background but I'm pretty well lost. I live in a small town in western Kentucky called madisonville and there aren't any shops around here that even touch them cause they are scared of the engines. I've found a great place for parts, and now a great place for good information and community. All I have to do now is find a good shop within driving distance that can make this thing move like no other. All and any help or advice is always taken with great appreciation.

Thanks guys,

Mitchell Baldwin

First off: welcome!

Secondly: You have NOTHING to be scared of. The Rotary engine has 4 (yes that's four) moving parts. The average rotary is small enough that you could pull it out of the car and work on it on your coffee table. I'm NOT a mechanic, my education is in computers and I work in the energy field, and I've never been able to set the timing on your average four cyl. import, yet I've had no qualms about striping my 12a down to the housing and putting it all back together. If i can do it, so can you.

Engine management, that's what forced induction's all about.. well, except for the forced induction production...
Just soup up that brain on that FD and you'll be golden.
