New to rotaries and the forum

Hi everyone! Here to introduce myself! Just bought an '95 rx-7 and a friend recommended I join the forum!

I had an STi before buying the dorito powered car, I got rear ended and it totalled it. I needed a new ride, was gonna go for an STi again but I ended up finding a decent deal on an imported one with good compression numbers and very little rust., and it is also another dream car!

So, here I am! I hear it's tough owning one and maintenance is a bit more on hand than most cars, but reading threads on here told me otherwise. I've already been made fun of for my purchase, but nonetheless, I'm excited for said challenges!

Made fun of for owning a FD? sounds like jealousy to me. my advice
change out the coolant, since you dont know when it was done
change oil often. 3k max
premix, add 1 oz per gallon of 2 cycle oil that has tcw3
let the car warm up before you drive it
let the car cool down when you park it ( i have my turbo timer set to 50 secs)
change the plugs, if modified, maybe use all 4 9Bs as the are cooler
While driving it, cruise at a bit of a higher RPM then you are used to.
try to get the revs up at least once per journey, as they say, a rev a day, keeps the mechanic away.

Welcome!

I'll be getting it either next week or the beginning of the week after, but once I do, I plan a full service, if not, I'll try and get it serviced at the place I got it from (Owners have a couple modded fds)

And thank you for the welcome and the quick tips, they are very much appreciated!

Oh, and as for premixing, it still has the pump, I will try and do a delete asap and start premixing

And the car is modified, 300whp at 10lbs of boost on 93 pump.

Premix anyway. I also still have my OMP and still premix. Does not hurt to be extra cautious

Okie dokes! Would you still recommend the 1 oz per gal of premix even with the omp?
I read a few articles about it and it still left me questioning whether or not, but just as you said, better to be safe !

Also, what did you mean by 4 9Bs, I'm guessing spark plugs? (NGK) right?

You owned a Subaru? You'll be right at home water jacket seals and head gasket seals both usually get fucked on these cars with good power/heat.

Here's some more stuff for your reading pleasure.
