New Project...Maybe!
Hello RX-7ers,
My name is Ron and I’m from the San Joaquin Valley in California. Thinking about a new project and looking for some opinions and direction. I have an opportunity to pick up an original owner 86’ turbo with a pristine body and interior for nothing! Motor lost compression 15yrs ago and it’s been in a garage ever since. Would like to make her my daily driver so thought maybe a JDM motor swap? Any thoughts?

You might want to double check the year of that car. They didn't produce the turbo until 1987.
There isn't much difference between the JDM turbo engine and the USDM version IIRC. Why not see what's wrong with the existing engine.
