New owner looking for some wise cats to help me out

Got my rx probably a year ago or so from my grandpa that past away. The clutch was completely wasted couldn’t even use 5th gear it was slipping so bad. And being new to the car i didn’t know much about it other than it had a rotary engine and was a drift machine. So i drove it after fixing the clutch for awhile not knowing i had to blown apex seals (i think it was two) one on each rotor but then another one blew up and totally messed up my housing and rotor. So now i got everything apart and parts everywhere trying to get it back together.

Welcome to the forum. These cars are not really drift missiles, though they can perform well if thats how you choose to drive the car. They're actually getting collectable and can be fairly valuable. Its a car worth restoring and enjoying as its an incredible car. Your grandfather definitely had great taste. Did he buy the car new?

As for the apex seals, once one let's go, the engine will not run or will run on the opposite rotor only. However, running on one rotor is not fun and the engine has no power. Its fairly rare to destroy a 12A. They were built quite well and with proper regular maintenance and when driven with respect, will last a long time. Its a shame that one of your housing was destroyed, as the housings are no longer available new from Mazda.
