New Owner - JDM FD3S RX-7 Type R

My name is Mike and I am taking delivery of a beautiful imported 1993 Mazda RX-7 Type R this week. The car has 50k verified miles (80,xxx kilometers) and has motor rebuild receipts dating to late 2016. Despite the recent rebuild, I still wanted to confirm the motor was healthy so I had a compression test performed. The first rotor's results were 115 across the board and the second rotor read 110, 110, 105. My research about compression testing confirmed that the motor is indeed healthy. Additionally, the car has just received some maintenance including an oil change, new coolant, and new spark plugs.

There are modifications on the car and they are as follows:

- Apexi N1 Dual Tip Exhaust

- Apexi ECU Power Commander

- Work Emotion CR- Kai wheels

- Mazdaspeed Type 2 Replica Wing

- Tein Driving Master Type-HA Coilovers

- Pioneer Navigation Head Unit

- Alpine Speakers w/ Tweeters

- Mazdaspeed Carbon Fiber Shift ****

- Defi Boost and Water Temperature Gauges

- Red "Rx-7" Badge

- HID Headlights

- LED Interior Lights.

I have never owned a rotary car prior to this one, but I am very excited for this ownership. The car will serve as a promotional car for my Gray Market automotive classifieds website called IMPORTR (Importr.com). The car will be stickered up with our logo and going to events around the country soon. If you see me around please come introduce yourself! I am looking forward to being a part of RX-7 Club and the rotary community in general! Thanks for reading.

- Mike W.

Wow, nice! How's it driving RHD? I was actually considering a JDM 99 spec once it's legal, but hesitant about driving on the other side everyday.

Thank you everyone for the kind words. Unfortunately the seller sold it from under me and decided to tell me after I already had it insured and was traveling to purchase the car. Extremely upsetting but hopefully I’ll find an even better 7!

Yes it definitely sucks. Especially because the car was exactly what I was looking for but oh well. It’s not the end of the world

If you don't mind me asking, around what price point would a car like that be?

The car sold for $25,000. In my opinion, whoever bought it paid too much. I was willing to pay $23,000 and I felt like I was paying up even at 23k.

Ooof, RIP. I can't believe that's how much they are going for and people are willing to pay for them. I bought mine for $13,000 ..CDN.. and that's even when registration was all said and done. Even R32 GTRs were between $10-$15k. There goes my hope for owning a second FD.. at least for a while. Good luck on your search.
