New owner of a '91 convertible...
...got it for a good price. Mechanically functional, but auxiliaries (doors latches, window motors, interior, trim pieces, speaker wiring) are in rough shape. Love the car and am looking forward to getting involved in my new project and the community around it.
P.s. It's weird being 18 and owning something not only do many people want and are willing to pay lots of money to have, but also realizing that I am 10 years younger than the car I drive.

Thank you for posting pictures of the car!! It appears to be in great shape and the exhaust looks very nice on the car. I'm usually not a huge fan of larger aftermarket exhaust setups, but the one on your car looks great! Do you know any of the car's history?

Thank you for the comoliments. It sounds like the origional owner drove it pretty regularly but never excessively. He had done some repairs but never bothered fixing everything, and some of them have been "sub prime" repairs I will say. He sold it to the 2nd owner a couple months ago, and he used it as a fun daily to soak up the California sun and he had pretty much had his fun with it and decided to sell it when some of the never bothered to fix items started bothering him. I clearly see 2 sides of this car. On one hand I love it through and through. It's not too terrible on fuel economy compared to a lot of what I have become accustomed to driving, and is so much fun. It is so satisfying to floor it on an on ramp and rev it out to almost 8,000 rpm and listen to all the noises it makes and listen to pops coming out if the tail pipes. But it does need a lot of work to make it easier to live with. It needs a wheel balance and new window motors. Something in the door latch mechanism is missing, broken, or not hooked up because the drivers door will only open from the inside. I'd like to wire the headrest volume control back in (the 1st owner bypassed it with one of his repairs), some pieces of the dash are missing or loose, and thats just the start of the project, but what really made me fall in love with this car was it was in my price range and was mechanically functional. The engine runs pretty healthy, the transmission its self is good but the shifting mechanism is a little clunky and it can be hard to choose the right gear sometimes, and the clutch seems to be in pretty good shape. All the lights working and passing smog make it the perfect car for me at the moment. Something I love driving, that isnt just another civic or subaru that you see everywhere, that needs work to make comfortable, but doesn't need work NOW. I love the car and plan on loving it for a long time, meeting people and having fun along the journey. Joining this forum is the first step of many to building my legacy with it. I can't wait to see where it takes me.
