New old RX7 owner
Hello from Massachusetts,
I'm about to undertake the resurrection of of an 81' RX7 GS, 5sp. It was my wife's daily driver until 1990, when engine trouble took it off the road. We've been storing it in the garage ever since.
My goal is to get it restored for use as a summer fun car. Not interested in racing or heavily mod'ing it. Minor improvements will be considered, but I want to keep it basically stock, and don't want to impair driveability.
I am not a "car guy," and my experience is limited to maintaining our daily drivers until we run them into the ground. I've pulled and installed a tranny and differential, done shocks, brakes, radiators, etc..
This is a fantastic site for me, since I need to gather lots of info. First thing I need to decide is whether to rebuild the engine now, and if so, who to have do it. I'm not interested in doing it myself. Here's hoping I don't trip up on the forum rules in the process!
More to come...
