Hey everybody! I'm Eric, I just got a 88 gxl that is rough! I traded a bride zeta knock off seat and a set of s13 emusa coil-overs I had laying around the shop for it. I have owned a fb and fc previously, just dailys so I never did anything tuning wise. So I guess you could say I'm new to the rotary kinda.
Info I know on the car:
88 gxl I think
Not getting spark(no idea why he says Cas)
17" enkie wheels
5 lug
Full interior
30mm front fenders
Missing front and rear bumpers and pass mirror
Paint sucks!
Goals:
See if it runs and engine is good
If not swap it and rebuild!
Turn it into 350 hp drift car.

So got a ton to learn and to do in 5 months. God I love a challenge!
Here is a pic of the car will post more up when I go pick it up hopefully when I get off work. Any help is appreciated.

Welcome. Whats the issue? what coils not getting spark? or is it all 0f them? There is TONS of rotards down in dayton/cincy.

Yeah neither coils and I have checked and changed all the fuses plugs wires, coils have power, checked the ecu ground, unplugged the afm and still nothing so the only thing I can think of is maybe the ignitors or something I missed completely

 

Oh and the tach needle doesn't move and I have a spare ecu and coils I am gonna try tomorrow

i hope you know what your in for. that one looks extrememly familiar to me. and if its the one im thinking of. engine is straight junk. i looked at one that was identical. missing same things same wheels. everything, and it sat for like 7 or 8 years and had a blown engine to boot. hope you the best of luck.

 

I know is that 1 cuz the body kit and the red engine bay

 

If its the one were thinking of........that thing is fuked. The kid wanted me to help him fix it. He told me it didnt run b/c the spark plug wires were bad. When he said that i just told him "i really dont have any time to help you at all" lol.

just swap it if thats the case turbo parts are pretty easy too come buy and your in the right place for help and advice. no need to give up her. keep up the effort. rx7s can become black wholes but the payout in the end is well worth the effort. keep the ohio guys comin
