New from MO!
Hey all, new Missouri member here. Like many of you I’m guessing, I fell in love with FDs (and Supras, and Skylines, and NSXs) growing up playing Gran Turismo, Sega GT, Forza, and the Tokyo Xtreme Racer series. I’ve dreamed of owning some (or all, if I’m extremely fortunate) of these models ever since.
The Supra part of that dream came true 8 years ago, when I found a 57K mile stock ‘97 deep jewel green Turbo for sale less than an hour away. In the time since, I’ve modded it up to BPU levels, added a few miles (though it’s still under 60K), and loved every second of driving it — seeing it nearly double in value has been ok, too! I also got married, had a couple kids, and just haven’t had as much time available for anything car-related as I’d like. Until now.
On the heels of some recent changes in my life, I’m seriously contemplating making the FD RX-7 part of that dream come true as well. With the market seemingly set to take off (4K mile Touring for $70K on BaT?!?), I figure this may be my last chance to find a clean, lowish mileage FD at a price that doesn’t make me almost spit out my coffee on first glance.
Anyway, I’m glad to be here, look forward to learning as much as I can from this community, and will hopefully be joining the RX-7 owner’s club soon!

That's one beautiful Supra! By far my favorite color for the car. I've seen a couple in person over the years and Deep Jewel Green Pearl has always stood out and looks the best on the car. Runner up would be Baltic Blue Metallic. Thank you for sharing the pictures!!

Thanks for the kind words! DJG is my 2nd favorite after Royal Sapphire Pearl (but good luck ever finding one of those), with Baltic Blue being my 3rd choice. Obviously I'm biased, but I've never understood why DJG and BB seem to be some of the least desirable colors. They just suit the car so well IMO. Seems like Montego Blue gets kind of the same treatment on FDs, but I think it's a cool color too.

Well, I did a thing...Happy to announce that I'm officially the owner of what appears to be an all stock '93 MB/cloth 5MT base model! Originally a Canadian market car showing just under 61,000 km (~38,000 miles), so one more quirk to throw on top of an already quirky car with a quirky engine in a very quirky color. Appears to be a single prior owner who bought the car new in Ontario, moved to Illinois in 2002, then moved to New York in 2009 before selling to a Chicago-area dealer in May of this year. My brother and I drove 5 and 1/2 hours up to inspect and drive it yesterday, and I'm having it shipped back down to MO hopefully within the next week. I would've loved to drive it home myself, but being a bigger (read: fatter) guy, I didn't think that much time crammed into an FD sounded like such a good idea lol. No pics for now, but I'll try to get some good ones when it arrives, which is easier said than done with MB.
