MN New from Minnesota

Well right now i own an 89 Honda crx but i'm in the market for a RX7. i will be purchasing an 88 or an 89. I am an auto body tech and there are not a lot of people where i live that do much with the rx7. i'm having a hard time locating a turbo 2 and when i do they are extremely expensive. is it worth buying a base model and turboing it? what upgrades seem to have the best response. I am sick of Honda's because i have owned 5 of them now and its time for something different. any help for this Mazda newbie would be much appreciated!!!

If you are near the Minneapolis area, the guys at Walser Mazda are very nice and helpful.
