New member stationed in Japan!

Hello everybody! My name is Edgar and I am currently stationed in Japan (originally from South Carolina) I purchased my car a few months ago after searching and searching for a stock FD. I ended up finding a stock 1992 FD model, that had around 58,000 KM. I have big plans for my car, so I am hoping to get help from all of you! I have been browsing the forums since December, but I am just now getting around creating this post.

welcome... i imagine you plan on bringing this car back to america with you. a word of advice from someone who has heard plenty of people say that and then give up......... do the reliability mods, keep up with regular maintenance and LEAVE. IT. ALONE. the temptation is so real out there to swap all sorts of parts and this and that and be wild but if you want it to last long enough to be your DD (since it looks like youre in the dorms) and make it to america in the 2-4 year youll be over there, its best to leave it alone. if its stock then leave it stock and then once its here, go crazy and loose your mind. just while youre there stock up on parts. mail a bunch of things back home to wait for you or something like that. start a "****, i blew it up" fund.

the car is plenty fun and powerful for whatever it is you will find yourself doing over there. it doesnt really need much. just do the reliability mods and go about your way having an FD that will last you until its time to take it to the port. i also suggest you fact check me by doing your own research on this forum that has gobs of information stuff and things. the faq thread in the 3rd gen section is so full of information it should be published.
