bought a 95 rx7 twin turbo rhd...its a beautiful car, have always wanted one, i feel like i am complete haha

is it normal for the center console of these cars to be hot though? pretty sure when hitting redline once the car made a grinding sound, noticed smoke coming from the center console immediately pulled over and shut the car down for 10 mins...

frankly it scared the crap out of me...
