Hey Everyone,

Luke here and I'm from the frozen tundra of Minneapolis, MN. Currently drive a 2009 mazda6 2.5L and am now on the market to buy an FD and wanted to get as much knowledge into me as possible. Never been on a forum that has as many rules for posting as this one, but I suppose it comes with all of the trolls and popularity the car culture brings with it. Looking at a 1993 right now that's for sale in the area, but I'll post all those details over in the other section.

Hi Luke,

If you're looking at the silver one in St. Paul, it pulls pretty well but definitely needs a little TLC. Went and looked at it today as I am also looking to pick up a FD. We should see if there are other local FD owners for some tips, I haven't seen many around the cities...

Yeah, I spoke with some of my rotary enthusiast friends and they warned me to stay away pending that he didn't do all of the work and probably ran it really hard and hot without really worrying about the seals. I was warned that fixing apex seals can cost 3-5K and that is the last headache I want.

When I spoke with him he told me of someone doing a compression test on the engine, was this you?

I did not do the compression test, but when I went to look it over, he said he had to pick it up from the shop. When asked why it was in the shop, he indicated for a compression test but did not share the results. Given the shape of the rest of the car, I didn't bother asking for the results either.
