MI New Member From Michigan

Hi, my name is James. I am from Farmington Hills, MI. I have a 2006 Mazdaspeed6 with a few mods on it that is my daily driver. I recently acquired a blue 1987 RX-7 GXL. I am a member of the SCCA, and a couple months ago I attended a RallyCross event with my speed6. At that event, I realized that although I my car's performance was sufficient to run with the Subies, its not as durable as the Subies. Not wanting to kill my 6, I thought about what sort of car I could pick up cheaply to use for RallyCross. I remembered seeing a couple people using RX-7s, and I discovered I could pick one up very cheaply. That made me very happy, because after driving one in Forza 4 on my Xbox, I've totally been in love with RX-7s. So now that I have an RX-7, I need to set it up for RallyCross, but before I can do that there's lots of broken stuff that needs fixing. Hopefully the community on this forum can help me solve all my problems concerning my car.

Hey James! There's definitely a strong contingency of RX-7 ownership here in Michigan and it's a great state for autocross and rallycross too. I've had friends rallycross here in the area but I tend to stick to pavement myself. Personally, I enjoy autocrossing with the Alfa Romeo Owner's Club because they have a high tolerance for low power and leaked oil. Haha. And they set up fittingly tight courses to contrast some of the really fast SCCA courses.

Welcome aboard!
