New Member - Melbourne, FL - 1993 FD

Hello All,

I am a new owner of a 1993 FD Touring. Silver / Red interior.

I've always wanted an RX-7, and now by pure luck and money, I was able to pick one up at a good price. Love at sight! Its hard to describe to you how happy I am every time I sit in the drivers seat...

It has some minor performance components; Front strut brace, adjustable koni struts, APEXi Commander / FC, and APEXi intake. It runs pretty strong, but has room for improvement.

From the exhaust manifold back, the piping has been replaced with 3" with no Cat. But, it has the original oem exhaust. Kinda strange. I was told by the owner, that she didn't like how loud the aftermarket exhaust was.

My biggest question to you all, what exhaust do you recommend? (I know this is the wrong area in the forum to post this question... Sorry.)

For grins, I pulled the exhaust off and ran straight pipe. A completely different animal.

Thanks for listening, and be on the lookout for pictures and updates. Any information you all can provide would be appreciated.

Howdy! When you get enough posts, come hang out in the SE section of the forum...you might even find an exhaust locally.

The real question is what do YOU desire from your exhaust? Power usually = noise. I have an Apexi N1 Dual exhaust I'll be selling soon that is considered an exhaust that gives one of the higher HP results...but it is one of louder exhausts as well.

See you in the SE section soon!

Welcome to the forum!! +1 on Apexi N1 duals, definitely louder but probabaly not as loud as straight pipe. I'd suggest high flow cat unless you just like noise and smelling like gas lol.

Welcome to Digitalten

Just saw your post of 3/18(?)...I dont scan the new member posts much...anyway, here's a "Hiya!" from Winter Haven, NE Polk county. My 7 is a 93 touring, black w/tan int. Mods are very similar to yours. Will you be at the DGRR? If so, maybe we can swap lies, etc. Best...D.M.
