Dads 1985 RX-7 GSL-SE:
Hi everyone, I’m new to this site and so happy I found it. Long story but sadly my father passed away this past spring. I was with him the day he bought this in February or March of 1985. I have loved this car since that day. I have owned faster newer cars but this has always been my true driving love. Of course he made me learn to drive manual on other people’s cars lol, but after driving it I understood why 😊
Anyway I now have it back to my home. It hasn’t been driven in about 2 years but after popping a new battery in it started up with the same glorious sound it made 34 years ago. I can’t get it on the road for a couple more months and also want to see what needs to be repaired. I’m going to have lots of questions and I look forward to getting to know other enthusiasts.
Here’s a great picture of it from about 3 years ago. Unfortunately it has been kept in Ocean City for a few years and has a bit more wear from being around the salty conditions.

Welcome!! Very sorry to hear of your father's passing. I'm happy that you are keeping his car and have plans to enjoy the car as he would have wanted you to. For technical questions on the car, feel free to post in the 1st generation specific forum. We will be happy to answer any questions you have on the car!! Would love to see more pictures of the car when you have a chance to post them!

Sorry about the loss of your father, but incredibly nice looking car! I’m in northern MD, Carroll county area. If you ever want to get together for a meet or cruise definitely get in touch!!
EDIT: I see you’re listed in Hampstead. I grew up in Hampstead, and still work here, but I live in Hanover PA now. Small freaking world.
